About the Agri-food Pilot
The Agri-Food Pilot assists in satisfying the labor requirements of Canada’s agri-food industry. Experienced, year-round workers in some fields can use the trial program as a stepping stone to citizenship.
Eligibility Criteria for Agri-food Pilot
To qualify for permanent residence through the Agri-Food Pilot Program, an applicant must
- Have work experience in Canada in one or more of the eligible industries and occupations (outside of Quebec)
- The candidate must be able to speak the required languages
- Complete the required coursework, and have settlement fees (if necessary) to keep one’s status as a temporary resident (if already in Canada)


Who can apply?
- Possess appropriate prior employment experience
- Satisfy the language criteria pass the academic requirements have a work offer that qualifies you
- Show that you’re able to support yourself financially in Canada (if applicable)
- Have kept your status as a temporary resident in Canada (if you’re already there)

Eligibility Criteria for Agri-food Pilot
- Diploma from an accredited Canadian secondary school or an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an appropriate institution or professional body demonstrating completion of an equivalent foreign credential at the secondary school or higher.
- When you apply, the ECA report can’t be older than 5 years.
- The initial ECA report must have been published on or after the prescribed date.
