Super visa for parents
Former Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney praised the Super visa program as a means of family reunification in Canada.
The fact that Canada has become home to a sizable immigrant population from every corner of the globe is no longer a secret. They are not only allowed to work and dwell in Canada but they are also awarded a permanent residency and citizenship, entitling them to all of the same social advantages as native-born Canadians. It’s no surprise that foreign-born Canadians now make up one-fifth of the country’s population.
Canadian permanent residents or citizens who wish their old parents back home to come and stay with their children or grandchildren, super visa is the option.
Eligible parents and grandparents can now stay for the maximum 5 years duration at a time with a multi- entry visa .

Regular visa each stay is maximum 6 months
Filling out the application for a Canada super visa is a breeze, as is the rest of the procedure. Most of the application requirements are the same as for TRV, but there are a few more things that applicants must do:
- Applicants need a letter of invitation from their Canadian citizen or permanent resident children or grandchildren.
Birth certificates or other documents that authenticate the applicants’ relationships with the children/grandchildren in Canada Documents providing verification that the children/grandchildren meet the minimal Canadian Low Income Cut-off.
Coverage for one year from a Canadian insurer for medical expenses.
Canadian medical insurance is required as anybody entering Canada on a super visa, including parents and grandparents, will not be eligible for Canadian health care.
